About To Make The First Move – Poster

It’s interesting to see how ideas inspire works. As an artist I’m constantly looking for inspiration and creating my next work. I’ve made artworks of wild dogs before, but all of a sudden a specific alpha female made herself known to me in a dream. Slowly the image took shape and then the colours came through. I knew when I made this work, I would need to create the passion and energy that wild dogs exude. Here a female wild dog focuses on a target ahead and is about to move with the pack on a hunt for food.

I loved creating this work, the intensity of the contrasting colours which portray bold, pent-up energy, is exactly what I wanted.
